Location: Kiawah

Kiawah is widely regarded as Charleston’s most exclusive section. It’s a stunningly beautiful island town with world class golf and beaches. To get onto the island, you’ll need a valid reason. There is a guarded gate where you will be asked to explain your visit or to show your gate pass. Gate passes are available to residents or those doing business on the island.
Once through the gate, you’ll be amazed by the natural beauty of the island. Houses are, for the most part, spectacular and grand with a good amount of property and if you are really lucky, some of Charleston’s best views.
The golf is as world class as world class gets. Kiawah Island is home to The Ocean Course. It was designed in 1991 by Pete Dye to be one of the most beautiful but challenging courses in America. It was selected as the site of the Ryder Cup in 1997 and the Senior PGA Championship in 2007. In 2012 it will host the PGA Championship.
If the Ocean Course isn’t your cup of tea there are other options as well, such as the Turtle Point course.
Villas can be purchased on Kiawah in the mid $200K range but to get into something spectacular, you will be spending $1.5 Million and up. Many people feel that the price tag is well worth it, including countless celebrities, investors, full time residents and vacation home owners.
